Honsberger Physiotherapy about laser therapeutic system LEP2000

Kevin Honsberger

June 28, 2001

To Whom It May Concern:

Honsberger Physiotherapy has been utilizing laser therapy, specifically equipment from International Medical Instruments (IMI), for over twelve months. It is now standard equipment in all of our clinics.

As a practicing physiotherapist for over eighteen years, I have found that laser technology provides an extremely effective and much quicker response in dealing with soft tissue injuries.

I would encourage all health care professionals, who deal with the treatment of soft tissue injuries, to explore the role and value of laser technology in their practices.

Professionally Yours,

Kevin Honsberger

Re: Low Energy Photon Therapy (LEPT) and Acute Injuries

Over the past year I have been using low energy photon therapy in a sports physiotherapy clinic, located in an athletics centre. I have had the experience of treating many acute injuries, and have had the benefit of being able to return the athletes to sport activity far earlier than would typically be expected.

LEPT is of great benefit in acute injury cases as it appears to limit the amount of swelling which is produced, and accelerate healing. Swelling control is extremely important, because it has been shown that the more swelling, the longer the recovery of an injury. As well, in my experience I have observed that pain is effectively reduced post-treatment in most cases, but more importantly, that this appears to be a long-term effect.

I hope to continue to observe the benefits of using LEPT with acute injury cases.

Sincerely,

Nancy Durrant
